With the release of the first version of the its new educational software suite under the Qedoc brand, Image Intelligence Software expresses optimism about its future development plans.
"The educational software market is one of the most competitive there is," said the project's director. "It's an ambitious step even to enter the market with a new product. But we felt there were very specific needs which weren't being met."
From a business perspective, the biggest step taken with this release is to open up even the best features in the software to the zero-cost user. There is no gradation of software versions into "Express" and "Enterprise" versions which reserve the best features for a 4-figure top-of-the-range edition.
Many ideas have been borrowed from computer gaming. For example, the concept of Online Learning Communities comes directly from online gaming. Anyone learning from - or playing with - a specific module can be linked into a global learning community and compete with others at the click of a single button.
The Qedoc Software Suite is based around the Qedoc Quiz Player which is distributed for free and which can play interactive educational modules on any PC. The Qedoc Quiz Maker application is for any educators to create or change interactive educational modules.
